Little Tiger Records is a student-run label operating out of Riverside Music Complex in Busby, Glasgow (the students are studying on Riverside’s HND Music Business course). Little Tiger Records will release a single by Glasgow group Bricolage on 07/11/16, the track is called Footsteps (written by singer / guitarist Graham Wann), and was originally released by the Creeping Bent Organisation ten years ago.
Bricolage had a bright start to their career, receiving praise from the NME etc after releasing a debut single on Creeping Bent, followed by a second acclaimed 7” single on Fantastic Plastic. These releases and the critical noise they garnered captured the interest of several bigger labels, and Bricolage signed to Memphis Industries (who were having success with The Go Team and Field Music).
A debut Bricolage album was recorded, produced by Stephen Lironi, and the group
were asked by the following artists to open for them as special guests; Fire Engines, Franz Ferdinand, Sun Ra’s Arkestra. So far, so rosy.
However, the forward trajectory of Bricolage came to a shuddering halt when guitarist / vocalist Wallace Meek left the group the same day their third single (and first on Memphis Industries) was released, moving to California to be with his girlfriend. This resulted in a legal hold being put on the Bricolage album, which ultimately led to the album not being released by Memphis Industries.
Little Tiger Records are pleased to announce the release of Footsteps as a single, which will act as a precursor to the debut Bricolage album finally being given a proper release by Creeping Bent in February 2017, ten years after it was originally recorded.
