Little Tiger Records is a student-run record label at Riverside Music College in Busby, Glasgow. The students are proud to announce the release a new single by fresh jangle-pop four piece -The Plastic Youth. Comfort will be released on 22nd March and will be the band’s second single release this year. The band are one example of the great talent breaking through from Riverside Music College, with two members being students on the HND Performance class. The single was recorded at Riverside’s studio, produced by Ross Cameron (assisted by students on the HND Sound Production course).

The Plastic Youth describe themselves as “a Glasgow-based four-piece who infuse a backdrop of crisp and exciting guitar tones topped with sugary, infectious melodies, recalling the likes of White Album-period Beatles, Television, Syd Barrett, and The Strokes”. The band was formed at school in late 2013 when lead vocalist Jack Graham was joined by brother Adam Graham (drums) and childhood neighbour Nic Sharp (lead guitar), before bringing in Jude Taylor on bass to complete the line-up.

The band received critical success and support in the form of radio play on BBC 6Music, BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio (among others), with the release of their debut single Sweet Dreamer in February. The Plastic Youth performed at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival at the CCA, where they performed on a bill featuring Gareth Sager & The Hungry Ghosts and Port Sulphur as part of the 25th anniversary celebration gig for The Creeping Bent Organisation.

The band will be playing live on the 29th March at The Blue Arrow jazz club in support of the debut album launch by Fenella - A Gift From Midnight - a co-release from Little Tiger Records and Last Night from Glasgow.
